We at The Mane Event, Orlando chapter held our first ever Driving D-1 Rating Test! It was held on 11-29-08 and we had 5 people participate, 10 or so cheerleaders, and lot's of great food afterward!

(left) Kathy Boyer's pit crew listens in as she receives her rating. Kathy's mare Journey is half Belgian and half paint. She is 8 1/2 years old and has been owned by Kathy since she was 2 1/2. Kathy has done lower level dressage, jumping and trail riding with her. About 8 months ago Kathy with the help of Vivian started training Journey to drive and Journey seems to be a natural at pleasure driving.
The driving queen
Impetus for this achievement was provided by driving guru Vivian Luscuskie (right) who both inspired and rated us. Vivivan has been driving for approx 20 years. She has trained both horses and people during this time. She is a member of The Florida Whips, The American Driving Society and has been involved with The Central Florida Buggy Club in the past. She does some showing but her passion is trail driving. Vivian has logged over 1500 miles of driving on the trails (she has a pedometer strapped to her cart) with her pony and miniature horse!
