OPRC Insurance Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find answers to some of the questions we are most often asked, but if you still have a question, please email us at Insurance

Why would I fill out the form for insurance if our club already has insurance?

  • You only need to fill out the form if you are going to have guests over. If you have "members only" and the facility you will be meeting at doesn't request we list them as an "additional insured", then you don't need to fill out the form. This flow chart might help you.
  •

When do I need additional insurance beyond what our club policy offers?
  • When you invite guests to ride with you or to a function you are hosting.
  •

Why would I need to purchase "additional insured" insurance?

  • Some facilities require that we list them on our policy. This is so that while we are on their property, our insurance covers any mishaps we may have and not the facilities day to day insurance. Page two of this chart might help you.

  • Can only our President sign this form?

  • Yes, your President is the governing authority of your chapter and therefore legally responsible for authorizing the purchase of additional insurance.
  •

Why do we need to go through NOPRC to purchase additional insurance? Why can't we just go directly to the insurance agency?

  • The National office has the master database of who is authorized to request the purchase of additional insurance on our policy. We first check to make sure the request is authorized and then forward it to the agency. NOPRC is the policy holder, so only NOPRC may submit requests for additional insurance to the agency.
